Our Social Committee members had the privilege of visiting our corporate charity partner, Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, at their Hampton site to present a cheque for £1,685. A brilliant total raised as part of the 60th Anniversary celebrations of FAAC Technologies.
“We were delighted to welcome FAAC to Shooting Star House earlier this month; it was so lovely to meet the team and show our appreciation for all the incredible fundraising they have done. This money will be crucial in helping to fund our vital care services for life-limited children and their families, and those who have been bereaved. We’re really looking forward to working closely together in the future!” – Sarah Kelly, Philanthropy and Partnerships Fundraiser at Shooting Star.
“At FAAC, we foster a culture of compassion and fundraise as a meaningful way to support and strengthen our local community. What we experienced was deeply moving. The team welcomed us warmly and shared the incredible work they do to support families, across West London and Surrey, who are facing the most difficult of circumstances.” – Kelly Spray, Marketing Manager at FAAC Entrance Solutions UK.
Shooting Star provides both end-of-life care at their Guildford hospice and bereavement support at Hampton for families with children who have life-limiting conditions or who have tragically passed away. Their facilities – including a hydrotherapy pool, sensory rooms and music therapy spaces – offer comfort, care and moments of joy in the darkest of times.
“What’s truly inspiring is that much of this work is made possible by a dedicated team of over 500 active volunteers – many of whom have been personally supported by the charity themselves. Their compassion and commitment are a testament to the lasting impact of the hospice’s work.” – India Smith, Assistant Project Manager at FAAC Entrance Solutions UK.
While our donation is a small part of the £13 million the charity needs annually to operate, we know it will help provide essential care, emotional support, and – most importantly – help children and families make precious memories together. We left with a renewed sense of purpose and a clear reminder of why fundraising matters.
This is just the beginning – we’re more committed than ever to supporting this local and extraordinary charity. A visit that puts everything into perspective.
