Why do I need to maintain my automatic doors?

Automatic Door Standards BS EN 16005 2012 A 2015 in conjunction with BS 7036-0-2014 states that to protect the safety of employees and the public, it is the building occupier’s responsibility to ensure that equipment or machinery is routinely maintained in line with manufacturers recommendations.

Your automatic door is more than an entrance; it’s a vital guardian for safety, security, and weather resilience. It shapes customer perceptions and safeguards your assets, representing a significant investment needing care.

The maintenance of automated entrances is essential for maximising safety, lifespan, efficiency & operational reliability.

Automatic doors that are regularly maintained through a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contract will provide many years of reliable, cost-effective operation.

Service & Maintenance Contracts

At FAAC Entrance Solutions we understand that not all customers, buildings and environments require the same level of service contract.  To make things as easy as possible we offer three standard contracts – Gold, Silver, Bronze.  Should you have something unique come talk to us as our maintenance experts work with you to offer a fully bespoke contract tailored your exact needs, to create a customised service schedule which suits your budget and operational requirements.

Our customers tell us, that they prefer to entrust the maintenance of their entrance systems, to dedicated specialists, by entering fixed term contracts, directly with FAAC Entrance Solutions, or nominating us as their supplier of choice, should their wider building maintenance needs be under the jurisdiction of external facilities managers.

The service and maintenance programmes devised by FAAC Entrance Solutions cover all maintenance requirements for the complete range of automatic sliding, swing and revolving door systems covering practically all makes, models and types of entrance equipment regardless of original manufacturer.

Repairs & Upgrades

Automatic sliding doors that are regularly maintained through a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contract will provide many years of reliable, cost-effective operation. However, like most pieces of machinery, parts will need replacing and major components will require upgrading during the life cycle of the door.

Adequate care will lengthen the life of any automatic door – Protect your new and existing doors by giving them the best maintenance – Speak to us to discuss what package might be better suited to your needs.

In need of an upgrade? FAAC’s Retrofit Kit Upgrade will modernise your existing automatic door. The RKU will update your door system without the need to replace your door leaves or framing elements.
